Course Content

The Certificate III in Tourism (Holiday Parks and Resorts) is aimed at staff who perform operational roles within a holiday park.

The course is an accumulation of skillsets within the maintenance, housekeeping, administration, and groundskeeping clusters.

The entry criteria for this course is to be >18 years of age (for the conduct of the in-person elements) and able to pass Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital assessments. 

Course Conduct

The course is conducted in a blended environment over a 6 – 24 months (depending on student preference). The majority of the knowledge component and assessments are conducted within the Virtual environment on our Learner Management System.

There will be a requirement for 10 days of in-person training that is conducted in two training blocks (five days each). These training blocks will be conducted at a holiday park with the locations and dates provided at least three months in advance. 

Note: Accommodation and catering is not included within the price of the course and the student must pay for their own accommodations and food.

Can I apply for credit transfer or RPL?

If you have completed an accredited qualification or recognised units of study with a Registered Training Organisation, you may be eligible for a credit transfer.

Trainers will need to review if your accredited qualification or recognised units are still within a current training package or are equivalent to the current training package or units. Discuss your previous educational qualifications with your trainer to see if this is a possibility for you.

Can I apply for recognition of prior learning?

RPL is available to any learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within the qualification. Please contact us for more information on this process and how to apply.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

There is no age limit, however applicants should have successfully completed year 10. Mature age and students with prior learning and experience are encouraged to apply.

Students must have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the assessment requirements which
include:

  • Office work
  • Grounds and maintenance work
  • Cleaning.
